The old way or the new way? What do you think?
Share your feedback on something new...
This is super-exciting… at least I think it is. Hopefully you do too.
Let me get right to what I’m talking about…
As you know from being one of my subscribers, I’m all about creating visual guides to help teach valuable ideas and strategies.
I do this for a couple of reasons:
Visuals help you grasp how ideas work better than just text.
Visuals make the information seem more valuable, because greater care has been taken in putting it together. As a result, I believe this gives you a greater motivation to use what you learn from me than if I just presented it to you in text.
For years, I’ve experimented with so many ways of presenting ideas visually that my hard drive is packed with hundreds of experiments that never made the cut and that you’ll never see.
I’m obsessed with constantly improving my approach to presenting information visually.
I’ve always loved a visual teaching style known as sketchnoting (developed by Mike Rohde), which is a way of presenting ideas in a simple, natural, hand-drawn format.
I’ve always wanted to share my ideas in this format, but I never mastered it … at least not at a speed that would enable me to share the 1,000+ ideas I want to share before I’m gone (sometime down the road 😉).
That all just changed…
Here’s What I’m Talking About…
To help you see for yourself what I’m talking about, let me share with you just one example.
Here’s a LifeMap I published not too long ago about the power of taking action - maybe you remember it:
Of course, I think it not only contains valuable information, but it looks good too.
Now, here are two sketchnote versions of the same information:
VERSION 1
VERSION 2
The information in all three examples is essentially the same, but just presented using different visuals.
Review them all carefully.
Old or New?
While I have my favorite style, this newsletter is for you, so I very much want to know which style you like best, especially considering the idea of printing and saving them for reference later.
A Little Something More…
To make full use of each idea in the new format, I’m considering including the following with each one that’s created:
A simple text outline of the content (as you find in the original LifeMap), so you can read it quickly
A video tutorial that walks you through each idea using the sketchnote as the foundation
A simple worksheet that helps you put the idea into the action by guiding you through simple step-by-step process
An 8.5 x 11 inch poster that you can print and put on your wall as a reminder of the idea
Here are some examples of a worksheet and poster for this idea (review them and then leave your vote about what style you like best).

The Poster
How Am I Creating These?
While the foundation for the main idea and even the way it’s structured and the metaphor being used (the road of life) all come from inside my head, the graphical content is designed 100% using AI.
I know… you’re either sick of hearing the word AI, or you don’t even like the idea of using it.
In many cases, I agree with you.
But here’s how this is a little different…
Think of it as if I have hired a highly skilled sketchnote artist who will design anything I tell it to, any way I tell it to, as much as I want, whenever I want.
If you ask me… that’s pretty amazing to have access to something that powerful and useful.
Keep in mind…I’m not using AI to do the thinking part of this newsletter (and I never will) I like to think for myself), but I am using it to handle a part of content creation that it does exceptionally well, with some direct guidance from me… the creation of professional-looking graphics.
In Summary
I’m interested in hearing your voice about the direction to take the visuals that are part of this newsletter.
If you haven’t already, please scroll back up to the subhead titled Old or New to leave your vote (I’d really appreciate it).
If you have any comments, feedback, or additional ideas (anything that you feel would make this a better newsletter) please click this button - after you’ve cast your vote - to share them.
Thank you very much for your time, and for being a subscriber.
I hope you have an AMAZING Day!
If you find value in these visual guides and you’d like to support the creation of more of them, click this button to drop a small tip into the tip jar. Thank you in advance for being AWESOME!

I'm a big fan of the new sketch notes! The original concept was great, but the update is perfect. Evolution 💪
