1. You Live In a Balloon
Imagine you live inside a large balloon
The balloon represents the boundary of your comfort zone
2. Stage 1: Comfort
You feel safe and at ease in this space - thatâs why itâs called a comfort zone
You can move around freely without feeling pressure
3. Stage 2: Resistance
When you decide to grow or improve, you begin to push against the
boundary of your balloonAs you expand within the limits of your comfort zone, it pushes back
The pushback you feel is resistance that shows up as discomfort
4. Stage 3: Upset, Tired, Unsure
The more you continue to grow:
The BIGGER you become
The more resistance and discomfort you feel
Discomfort usually shows up in the form of frustration, exhaustion, or a
lack of self-confidence
5. The âTrapâ of Stage 3
Discomfort and frustration are the âtools of painâ your comfort zone uses to
keep you trappedIt doesnât want you to grow
If it makes growth unbearable and awful, you might give up trying
This is the stage of growth where most people DO give up
Because they give up, they never grow, but instead shrink back to their
old way of life
6. Stage 4: Breakthrough
Instead of giving up when frustrated and discouraged:
Push harder! Push more! Keep pushing!
If you keep pushing, you will eventually break through the resistance of
your comfort zoneYou become stronger and more capable than you were before

enjoyable
